In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until andacunless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 79 requests for assistance this past week, Oct. 18-24. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 3, Animal Control 9, Assist Other Agencies 18, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 57, Summons 4.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On October 18, 2021, officers responded to 100 East U.S. 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of soda, candy and a phone charger. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael J. Huegel, 33, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On October 23, 2021 officers responded to 110 West Hickory concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a cast iron statue of a small boy. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On October 23, 2021, officers responded to100 East U.S 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of vaping pens. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On October 24, 2021, officers responded to the 400 block of East US 54 Highway concerning a suspicious person. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Erin M. Jones, 40, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Burglary and El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Driving While Revoked, 2 counts, with a $877.00 bond. She was transferred to Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.
