In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

On July 23, 2018, officers responded to 615 North Main Street concerning a report of utility theft.  Suspects were identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 24, 2018, officers responded to 111 East Joe Davis concerning a reported larceny of medication. The investigation revealed the theft of hydrocodone. The investigation resulted in a juvenile suspect identified and referred to the juvenile office. 

On July 24, 2018, officers arrested Chad L Kearsey, 45, of Jerico Springs, for a Dade County Warrant, charging him with Probation Violation with a no bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On July 24, 2018, officers responded to 215 West Hickory concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun, a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun, 25 pairs of cargo shorts, three 15 round magazines, six boxes of 9mm ammo, Visio sound bar for TV, $150 Meeks gift card, three boxes of 20 gauge shells, three boxes of 12 gauge shells, orange and black backpack, Winchester Knife set containing two Bear Claw style folding knives, one pair of PS3 P11 online gaming headset, one pair of Men’s size 10-10.5 brown Twisted X boots. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 25, 2018, officers and El Dorado Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded to 401 South Grand concerning a reported structure fire.  A small wood framed garage was destroyed by fire. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 26, 2018, officers responded to 227 West US 54 Highway, Pete’s convenience store, concerning a reported stolen vehicle. A suspect has been identified; the vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 26, 2018, officers of the El Dorado Springs Police Department assisted Deputies of the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office serving a  Search Warrant at 1649 East 126 Road, El Dorado Springs, after receiving information of illegal drug activity.  Officers located illegal drug paraphernalia. The investigation continues.

On July 26, 2018, officers responded to the intersection of High and Hickory Streets concerning a reported leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. A suspect was identified, report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 26, 2018, officers arrested Jonathon R. Shepherd, 34, of Nevada, for a Vernon County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $800.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending a court appearance.

On July 26, 2018, officers of the El Dorado Springs Police Department served a Search Warrant at 300 East Gentry Street, after receiving information of illegal drug activity. Officers located drugs and drug paraphernalia. The investigation resulted in the arrests of Delores Applebee, 69, Tina Applebee, 34, Brandee Lawson, 41, Diamond L Marshall, 20, and Eric M. Tompkins, 33, of El Dorado Springs, charging them with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were released on summonses pending a court appearance. Additional, charges are expected in this case.

On July 27, 2018, officers responded to 111 Winner Road concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a Stihl FS36 weed eater, a 1 gallon gasoline can and a two and a half gallon gasoline can.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 27, 2018, officers arrested David T. Smith, 22, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Possession of Marijuana, with a $936.65 cash bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On July 28, 2018, officers arrested Cody A. Boultinghouse, 28, of Jerico Springs, for an active Vernon County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Fraudulent use of a Credit or Debit Device, with a $700.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending a court appearance.

On July 28, 2018, officers responded to 1409 South Main concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of metal detector, Craftsmen weed eater, and Craftsmen Miter saw, Pioneer Stereo Receiver, a red one gallon gasoline can, fishing boxes and fishing bags, Mongoose 26 inch bicycle, Mountain Lion 26 inch bicycle, Black and Decker coffee maker, and a Skil angle grinder.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 29, 2018, officers responded to 105 South Grand concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a 5 gallon gasoline can. A report taken and the investigation continues.
