In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 143 requests for assistance this past week, Aug.3 – 9. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance 9, Animal Control 25, Assist Other Agencies 32, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 2, All Other Requests for Assistance 77, Summons 19.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On August 3, 2020, officers arrested Adam D. Kruse, 39, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Kruse with Driving While Suspended, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, and for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On August 4, 2020, officers arrested Ronica P. Chandler 26, of El Dorado Springs, for Vernon County Warrant, charging her with Probation Violation on the original charge of Amphetamine Possession, with no bond. Chandler was transport to the Vernon County Jail pending a court appearance.

On August 4, 2020, officers arrested Brandon J. Marriott, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Trespass in the First Degree, with a bond a $935.50. Marriott was released pending a court appearance.

On August 4, 2020, officers responded to 1305 South Missouri 32 Highway concerning a reported noise disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jason D Simrell, 27, of Walker, for the probable cause of Noise Nuisance. He was released pending a court appearance.

On August 5, 2020, officers responded to 509 North Main concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of two debit cards.  A Juvenile suspect has been identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.

On August 6, 2020, officers responded to 810 South Grand Street concerning a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a white 2014 Ford E-250 van and $10,000.00 worth of specialty tools.  Vernon County Deputies recovered the vehicle after a short pursuit. Deputies arrested Brandon D. Dunn, 21, of Nevada, as the result of the pursuit. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 7, 2020, officers responded to 116 West Olive Street concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of two Hyper Tough LED work lights. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 8, 2020, officers responded to 403 South Ohio, Apartment 5, concerning a reported larceny from a Motor Vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a license plate. A report taken and the investigation continues.

The department received a total of 143 requests for service.
