In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 98 requests for assistance this past week, Sept.28-Oct. 4. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 5, Animal Control 16, Assist Other Agencies 16, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 10, All Other Requests for Assistance 45, Summons 9.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On Wept. 20, 2020, officers arrested Amanda M. Miller, 27, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Abuse or Neglect of a Child – Cruelty Toward Child, with a bond of $5,000.00. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On 28 October 2020, officers responded to 806 South Jackson Street concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a water line cover. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 30, 2020 officers responded to 1010 South Main concerning a reported disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael L. Beisley, 33, of El Dorado Springs, for a Vernon County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Trespassing, with a $90.00 cash bond. He was released pending a court appearance.

On September 30, 2020, officers arrested Barbara A. Cochran, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Register Motor Vehicle.  Ms Cochran was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On October 1, 2020, officers responded to 113 South Main on a reported disturbance. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On October 2, 2020, officers responded to 108 West Oak Street concerning a report larceny. The investigation revealed an American Flag had been stolen off the front porch of this residence. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On October 2, 2020, officers responded to the 600 block of South Grand for a reported peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Makenna D Jacobs, 23, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked. Ms. Jacobs was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On October 3, 2020, officers responded to 1408 South Summer concerning a violation of an Order. This investigation resulted in the arrest of Philip M Austin, 41, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Violation of a Protective Order.  Officer completed a probable cause statement for the charge.  He was released pending charges.

On October 4, 2020, officers responded to 223 West Spring Street concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of two full gasoline cans.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On October 4, 2020, officers responded to 1010 South Main concerning a delayed assault report. A suspect had been identified, report taken and the investigation continues.

On October 4, 2020, officers arrested William A Hunt, 48, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked.  Mr. Hunt was released on summons pending a court appearance.

The department received a total of 92 requests for service.
