In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 118 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 21-27. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 12, Animal Control 9, Assist Other Agencies 14, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 52, Summons 15.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 21, 2020, officers responded to 510 East Gentry Street concerning a peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shelby M Wilson, 23, El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Trespassing 1st Degree. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On December 21, 2020, officers responded to 709 East US 54 Highway concerning a burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a Craftsman 110 volt wire welder, two chainsaws and a nailer. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 22, 2020, officers arrested Thomas R Hill, 44, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Dog Regulations with a $103.00 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On December 22, 2020, officers responded to 600 East Broadway concerning a larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a compound bow and the keys to the truck. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 22, 2020 officers responded to 408 North Grand, Apt 51, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a pink wallet, contenting social security cards, EBT card, and insurance card.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 23, 2020 officers arrested Ashley M Mitchell, 29, of Montrose, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On December 23, 2020, officers arrested Stephen L Cox, 21, of Nevada,  for a  Nevada Municipal Warrant charging him with failure to appear on the original charge of borrowed/stolen plates and no proof of insurance, with a $275.00 cash bond, St Clair County Warrants, charging him with failure to appear on the original charge of no proof of insurance, with a $304.00 cash bond and  failure to appear on the original charge of failure to display plates, with a $221.00 cash bond, and the probable cause of Driving While Suspended.  He was released on summons pending court appearances.

On December 25, 2020, officers responded to 111 North Grand Street concerning a larceny.  The investigation reveals the theft of 6 used doors.

On December 25, 2020 officers arrested Christopher J Cretel, 24, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Fail to Appear on the original charges of no license plates with a $76.00 bond. He was released pending a court appearance.

On December 27, 2020, officers responded to 500 East Fields, #5, concerning an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of John E Snethen, 68, of Green Ridge, Missouri charging him with Domestic Assault 2nd degree, John R Snethen, 43, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with Peace Disturbance and Brian K Snethen, 45, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with Peace Disturbance. They were released on summonses pending a court appearance.

The department received a total of 91 requests for service.
