In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 118 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 28-Jan. 3. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 15, Animal Control 5, Assist Other Agencies 23, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 2, All Other Requests for Assistance 45, Summons 3.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 29, 2020, officers responded to 508 East Twyman for a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of $500.00 cash. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 30, 2020, officers responded to 314 South Summer for a reported burglary. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 30, 2020, officers arrested Harold K. Williams, 47, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Trespassing and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $1070.50 bond. He was released pending a court appearance.

On December 31, 2020, officers responded to 201 South Belisle concerning a report of minors in possession of alcoholic beverages. The investigation resulted in 8 juvenile suspects referred to the Juvenile Office.

On January 1, 2021 officers arrested Clifford W. Short, 57, of El Dorado Springs, on a Nevada Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on a traffic offense with $125.00 cash bond. He was released pending a court appearance.

On January 1, 2021, officers responded to 314 South Summer concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a Ruger .32 H&H Magnum revolver and a Springfield Armory standard .45 ACP. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 2, 2021, officers responded to Foster’s storage units at 904 South Allison Road concerning a reported burglary. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 2, 2021, officers responded to 512 East Lafayette Street, Missionary Baptist Church concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed forced entry was made and damage to a safe. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 2, 2021, officers responded to 501 South Summer concerning a motor vehicle theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a black, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. A report taken and the investigation continues.

The department received a total of 90 requests for service.
