In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 102 requests for assistance this past week, March  22-28. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 19, Animal Control 7, Assist Other Agencies 14, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 2, All Other Requests for Assistance 59, Summons 2.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On March 22, 2021, officers arrested Thomas J Edwards, 23, of Nevada, for a Polk County charging him with Failure to Appear for the original charge of Disorderly Conduct with a $100.00 cash bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On March 24, 2021, officers responded to 1301 South Missouri 32 Highway, Shannon & Associates, concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a 357 revolver and a bank bag with US Currency. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 26, 2021, officers responded to 504 East Fields, Trailer A3, concerning a report of a stolen scooter. The investigation revealed the theft of a black TaoTao Scooter.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 27, 2021, officers responded to 700 South Park, Apt 6, concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of $150.00, Nintendo Switch, Play Station 5 and a cell phone. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 28, 2021 officers arrested Korey Wegner, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for Cedar County Warrants, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Financial Proof Required and Failure to wear a seatbelt with a $250.00 cash bond and Failure to Appear on the original charges of Violation of Education Requirement for a child with a $250.00 cash bond. He is being transported to Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.
