In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 92 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 27-Jan. 2. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 13, Animal Control 12, Assist Other Agencies 11, All Escorts 3, Nuisance 9, All Other Requests for Assistance 43, Summons 13.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 26, 2021, officers responded to 100 East U.S. 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of an iPhone and pizza. A suspect had been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.  On December 27, 2021 officers arrested Angela R. Sieleman, 60, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of stealing. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On December 27, 2021, officers responded to the 800 block of East Marshall Street concerning a disturbance involving a firearm. A suspect was identified, report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 28, 2021, officers responded to 809 South Jackson concerning a Domestic Assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of David L. Simrell, 67, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault 2nd Degree. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges. Officers received a Cedar County Warrant charging him with Domestic Assault 2nd Degree with a $25,000.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office pending bond and court appearance.

On December 31, 2021, officers responded to 1403 South Jackson Street concerning a reported larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a muffler from a vehicle. A report taken and the investigation continues. 

On December 31, 2021, officers arrested Tristin A. Reed, 20, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Careless and Wreckless Driving, Speeding, Fail to Stop at a Stop Sign, and Fail to Stop for Emergency Vehicle. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On December 31, 2021, officers responded to 102 East Twyman concerning trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Krista S. Jarvis, 33, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County charging her with Person Unlawful Possession of Weapon with a Capias bond, Barton County Warrant, charging her with Probation Violation with a $100.00 cash bond, Polk County Warrant, charging her for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with a  $1000.00 bond, Nevada Missouri Municipal Warrant charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Traffic offense with a $633.00 cash bond, and a Buckner Municipal Warrant charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana with a $1000.00 bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On January 1, 2022, officers responded to 100 East U.S. 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a shoplifting. The investigation revealed the theft of Vodka and Skittles. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Joseph I. Wyatt, 36, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of stealing. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
