In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 86 requests for assistance this past week, Jan. 10-16. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 19, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 9, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 11, All Other Requests for Assistance 46, Summons 9.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On January 12, 2022, officers responded to the 100 block of West Marshall concerning a report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Paul F. Keenan, 28, of El Dorado Springs for the probable cause of Driving While Intoxicated, No Operators License and Property Damage.  He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On January 13, 2022, officers responded to 110 East Poplar concerning a subject with an active Warrant. Officers arrested Bret M. Gish, 32, of El Dorado Springs on an active Probation and Parole warrant for Domestic Assault 2nd Degree and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle with no bond.  He was released to a Cedar County Deputy pending a court appearance.

On January 13, 2022 officers arrest of Travis A. Dale, 40, of El Dorado Springs for Municipal warrants for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a bond of $231.50 cash or surety and Trespassing with a bond of $181.50 cash or surety. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On January 13, 2022, officers of the El Dorado Springs Police Department assisted by a Cedar County Sheriff’s Deputy served a search warrant at 401 North Main Street, after receiving information of illegal drug activity and a fugitive from justice. Officers located and seized evidence of illegal drugs. The investigation resulted in the arrests of Joshua K. Ohman, 29, of El Dorado Springs, for Cedar County Warrants charging him with Failure to Appear for the original charges of Rape and Fraud with no bonds. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance. Also arrested were  Leah S. Taylor, 39, and Rachel R. Ohman, 51, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On January 13, 2022, officers responded to 200 West McCrary Circle Apt# 34 for a report of a larceny. The investigation revealed the fraudulent use of a debit device in the amount of $819.50.  A juvenile suspect was identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.

On January 15, 2022, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway for a report of shoplifting.  The investigation reviled the theft of a bag of Beef Jerky.  The suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

On January 16, 2022, officers responded to 200 West McCrary Circle Apt#21 for a report of an assault.  A juvenile suspect was identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.
