In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 80 requests for assistance this past week, Jan. 24-30. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 14, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 14, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 40, Summons 7.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On January 26, 2022, officers responded to 400 East Hospital concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of U.S. Currency and a set of car keys. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 27, 2021, officers responded to 1109 South Jackson concerning a larceny from motor vehicle.  The investigation revealed the theft of keys. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 29, 2022, officers responded to 700 South Park, apartment 6, concerning a Domestic Assault.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 29, 2022, officers arrested Harold K. Williams, 48, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charges of No Operators License, No Plates, Trespassing and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $1046.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On January 29, 2022, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway concerning a report of Careless and Imprudent Driving. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Dakota M. Herndon, 20, of El Dorado Springs, for a Camden County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charges of a Traffic Offense with a $100.00 cash bond. He was released pending a court appearance.

On January 30, 2022, officers responded to 500 East Fields concerning a reported assault. A juvenile suspect was identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.
