In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Dec 13 – Arrests: Brian R Shrout, 50, El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County warrant charging him with failure to appear on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance with a $5,000 bond. He received a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and was transferred to the Cedar County jail pending bond and court appearance.

David T Smith, 20,  El Dorado Springs, for Cedar County warrants charging him with probation violations on the original charges of felony stealing and felony receiving stolen property with no bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County jail.

Larry D. Jacobs, 51,  Stockton, for a Bates County warrant charging him with a probation violation of the original charge of violation of a protection order with a bond of $2,500. He was transferred to Bates County jail pending bond and court appearance.

Dec 14 – Officers responded to 100 East Hwy 54, Casey’s General Store, concerning reports of larceny (shoplifting).  Investigation revealed the theft of gloves and trail mix. Dec 15 investigation resulted in the arrest of Aaron W Plummer, 34, El Dorado Springs for the probable cause of possession of a controlled substance and felony stealing. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges. Officers received a Cedar County warrant charging Plummer with a Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance and Class D felony of stealing (prior/persistent) with a bond of $15,000.  Plumber was transferred to the Cedar County jail pending bond and court appearance.

Arrest: Rockey L. Pickering, 39,  Nevada, for a Vernon County warrant, charging him with unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, with a bond of $7,500.. He was released on bond pending court appearance.

Dec 15 – Officers responded to 313 South Grand concerning a reported larceny. Investigation revealed the theft of a Christmas light projection unit.  Investigation continues.

Officers responded to 805 North Jackson concerning a reported larceny. Investigation revealed the theft of US currency. Suspect has been identified and  investigation continues.

Officers responded to 106 East Golden concerning a report of an ex-parte order of protection violation. Suspected identified and arrested for the probable cause of 21 counts of violations of an order of protection. Suspect released with no charges as the Cedar County prosecuting attorney declined to file charges.
