In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 115 requests for assistance this past week, Sept. 15-21. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 10, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 25, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 7, All Other Requests for Assistance 67, Summons 28.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On September 19, 2022, officers responded to the 300 block of North Jackson Street for a report of an Assault and Property Damage.  The investigation led to the arrest of Rett Lunsford, 27, of El Dorado Springs.  He was released on summons for Assault and Property damage, pending a court appearance.

On September 20, 2022, officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling north bound on South Park Street for traffic violations.  The vehicle failed to yield to Officers leading officers on a pursuit.  The pursuit traveled outside city limits going east bound on Missouri 82 Highway to K Highway and then on US 54 Highway.  The pursuit came to a stop with the assistance of Cedar and St. Clair Deputies.  Officers arrested Jeremy Lingar, 18, of Nevada. It was determined the vehicle Lingar was operating was reported stolen from Nevada. Lingar had an active Vernon County Arrest Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear with the original charge of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and no bond.   Officer filed a probable cause statement with the charges of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st degree and Resisting Arrest.  Linger was transferred to the Vernon County Jail for holding until a court appearance.

On September 21, 2022, officers responded to Pete’s concerning a report of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shelly L. Haynes, 45, of El Dorado Springs charging her with Resisting arrest, tampering with a motor vehicle and trespassing 1st degree. She was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On September 21, 2022, officers responded to 211 West Hickory for a reported theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a DVD player. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On September 21, 2022, officers responded to 305 West U.S. Highway 54 in reference to tampering with a motor vehicle. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On September 24, 2022, officers responded to 114 West Hickory Street for a reported theft. The investigation revealed the theft of an American flag from the front porch. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On September 25, 2022, officers responded to 805 North Jackson concerning a report of property damage. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Tory B. Richards, 30, of El Dorado Springs charging her with Property Damage. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.
