In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 56 requests for assistance this past week, Nov. 7-13. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 1, Animal Control 6, Assist Other Agencies 6, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 43, Summons 2.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact the animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On November 14, 2022, officers responded to 206 West Spring concerning an assault. A juvenile had been identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.

On November 14, 2022, officers responded to 211 West Gay concerning a domestic assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jacob M. Keeton, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of 2nd degree Robbery, Domestic Assault and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges. Officers received a Cedar County Warrant for these charges with no bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On November 15, 2022, officers responded to a report of larceny at 200 McCrary. The investigation revealed the theft of a wallet containing US Currency. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 15, 2022, officers arrested Korey L. Wegner, 36, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant, charging him with Peace Disturbance with $131.50 bond. He was released after a court appearance.

On November 15, 2022, officers arrested Shelly L Haynes, 46, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Attempted Burglary Second Degree and Possession of Burglary Tools with a $5,000.00 bond. She was transferred in the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On November 16, 2022, officers responded to 901 South Grand, El Dorado Springs School concerning trespassing.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shawnda R. Pulley, 40, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Trespassing. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On November 17, 2022, officers responded to 204 West Joe Davis concerning larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a Cabala’s camouflage bag, a game camera, a camouflage jacket with front zipper, some hunting knives, and a hand warmer. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 17, 2022, officers responded to 117 West Poplar Street concerning a larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of keys.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 17, 2022, officers responded to Family Dollar at 700 East U.S. 54 Highway concerning larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of headphones. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 19, 2022, officers responded to 319 West Gay Street concerning a larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of an AR-15 rifle with tan stock and grip. A report taken and the investigation continues.
