In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 66 requests for assistance this past week, Nov. 21-27. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 2, Animal Control 6, Assist Other Agencies 15, All Escorts 3, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 40, Summons 4.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On November 21, 2022, officers arrested Jonathan S. Fannon, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for multiple St. Clair County warrants charging him with Non Moving Traffic Violations with a $735.00 total cash bond. He was transferred to the St. Clair County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On November 21, 2022, officers responded to 200 McCrary Circle apartment complex concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a Nokia cell phone.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 21, 2022, officers responded to 200 McCrary Circle, Apartment 14, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a Nokia cell phone.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 22, 2022, officers responded to 508 East Gentry concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a Blink Security Camera. A suspect identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 23, 2022, officers responded to 200 North Jackson concerning a report of a burglary involving an assault. Suspects were identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 23, 2022, officers arrested Kegan A. McGatha, 29, of El Dorado Springs, a St Clair County Warrants charging him Warrants charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Moving Traffic Violation with a $301.00 cash bond, Failure to Appear on the original charge of non-moving traffic violation, with a $222.00 cash bond, and Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Intoxicated, with a $5000.00 bond.  He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On November 26, 2022, officers responded to 504 East Fields concerning a larceny from a camper trailer. The investigation revealed the theft of a cell phone, solar charger, wedding band, and coins. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 27, 2022, officers responded to 400 east Hospital Road, Community Springs Nursing Home, concerning a reported larceny.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Mellisa A. Duschel, 46, of Poteau Oklahoma, for the probable cause of Stealing. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On November 27, 2022, at approximately 14:10 hours, officers of the El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Jackson Street, concerning a decease person in the nearby creek bed. The Cedar County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the investigation. There is no apparent evidence of foul play.  The victim was identified as Tori B. Richards, 30, of El Dorado Springs. The investigation continues.

On November 27, officers responded to a reported Missing Person. The investigation revealed that Shayla G. Houts, 27, of El Dorado Springs, has been missing since November 20, 2022.  Any with information of her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the El Dorado Springs Police Department at 417-876-2313.
