In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 73 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 5-11. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 5, Animal Control 15, Assist Other Agencies 12, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 1, All Other Requests for Assistance 39, Summons 1.

Animal Control

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact the animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On On December 7, 2022, officers arrested John R. Herndon, 24, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of trespassing. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On December 8, 2022, officers arrested Justin K. Stone, 38, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant charging him with Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order with no bond. He was transported to the Cedar County Jail.

On December 10, 2022, officers responded to 1301 East Industrial Parkway concerning an assault. A report was taken, a suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

On December 11, 2022, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a peace disturbance. Suspects were identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.
