In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 67 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 19-25. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 2, Animal Control 10, Assist Other Agencies 13, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 42, Summons 2.

Animal Control

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact the animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 20, 2022, officers responded to 1000 South Allison apartment #2 for a report of a larceny.   A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On December 20, 2022, officers arrested Shelly L. Haynes, 46, of El Dorado Springs on an active Cedar County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Burglary 2nd degree and Possession of Burglary Tools with a bond of $5,000.00 cash or surety. She was released to Cedar County deputy pending bond and a court appearance.

On December 22, 2022, officers arrested Thomas Toothaker, 39, of Nevada, for the Vernon County probable cause of Robbery and Theft.  Toothaker was transferred to Vernon County.

On December 22, 2022, officers responded to 500 East Fields, Trailer 27, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of fuses taken from the breaker box.  A report taken and the investigation continues.
