The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 68 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 26-Jan. 1. The requests were as follows:
Ambulance Assists 3, Animal Control 6, Assist Other Agencies 5, All Escorts 2, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 52, Summons 7.

Anyone interested in adopting animals from the City Pound should contact the animal control officer at 876-2313.
Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.
Police Report
On December 26, 2022, officers responded to 312 West US 54 Highway for a report of an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Rhett A. Lunsford, 27, of El Dorado Springs charging him with Assault. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
On December 29, 2022, officers responded to 311 South Ohio concerning a report of an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Joshua D. Carter, 44, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with Assault and Peace Disturbance. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
On December 29, 2022, officers responded to 200 East US 54 Highway conceding a larceny at 401 North St. James Apartment D. The investigation revealed the theft of a yard light. A suspect has been identified and a report has been taken.
On December 29, 2022, officers responded to 121 West Spring concerning a person there with active warrants. Officers arrested Jonathan A. Halcon, 25, of El Dorado Springs on an active Cedar County Warrant for Failure to Appear with a bond of $250.00 cash only. He was transported to CCSO pending bond and a court appearance.
On December 29, 2022, officers responded to 400 block of West Industrial Drive for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Parker Pride, 23, of El Dorado Springs, charging with Driving While Intoxicated and No Operators License. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
On December 29, 2022, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway for a report of a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a pizza. A suspect has been identified and a report has been taken,
On December 30, 2022, officers arrested Mark Curtis, 58 of Walker, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging with Failure to Appear with the original charge of Expired Plates. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.
On December 31, 2022 officers responded to 311 South Ohio Street in reference to a peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Joshua D. Carter, 44, of El Dorado Springs, charging him three counts of Violation of an Order of Protection. He was released on summons pending a court appearance
On January 1, 2023, officers arrested Korey Wegner, 36 of El Dorado Springs, for an active Cedar County Warrant and El Dorado Springs warrant. The Cedar County charged him with a Conservation Violation of Entering or Being on Department Area During Restricted Hours and had a $500.00 bond. The El Dorado Springs warrant charged him Failure to Appear with the original charge of Property Damage with a bond of $131.00. Wegner was transported to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance to posting of bond.
