Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 84 requests for assistance this past week, Jan. 2-8. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 4, Animal Control 15, Assist Other Agencies 8, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 2, All Other Requests for Assistance 54, Summons 7.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact the animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On January 2, 2023, officers responded to 101 East Spring Street concerning property damage. The investigation revealed several tires cut and deflated of two legally parked vehicles. The investigation resulted in three juvenile suspects identified and referred to the juvenile office.

On January 2, 2023, officers responded to 511 South Main Street concerning a larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of camera and solar charge Christmas lights. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Kenneth W. Johnson, 44, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of stealing. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On January 2, 2023, officers responded to 100 South Main, City Park, concerning property damage. This investigation revealed damage to the restrooms of the park building. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 3, 2023, officers responded to the 200 block of South St. James, Santa Paula Awning parking area, concerning property damage.  The investigation revealed several trailer tires cut and deflated.  The investigation resulted in three juvenile suspects identified and referred to the juvenile office.

On January 3, 2023 officers responded to 503 East Fields concerning a peace disturbance.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of James D. Santerle, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Assault 4th Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On January 4, 2023, officers responded to 921 South Park, Apple Bus Company, concerning a larceny and property damage. The investigation revealed school buses were accessed, fire extinguishers were stolen and discharged.  The investigation resulted in three juvenile suspects identified and referred to the juvenile office.

On January 5, 2023, officers arrested Tyler M Wilkins, 31, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging him Possession of a Controlled Substance with no bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On January 6, 2023, officers arrested Jacqueline R Willhoit, 54, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cass County Warrant charging her with possession of a controlled substance with a $500.00 cash bond.  She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On January 6, 2023, officers assisting investigators of the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Juliette E. Shaw, 52, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $15000.00 bond, and a Vernon County Warrant, charging her with Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $500.0 cash bond.   She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending court appearances.

On January 7, 2023, officers responded to 116 West Oak concerning property damage. The investigation revealed a damage window pane.  A report taken and the investigation continues.
