Law enforcement activities
The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 69 requests for assistance this past week, March 6-12. The requests were as follows:
Ambulance Assists 3, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 9, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 46, Summons 1.

Animal Control
Anyone interested in adopting animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report
On February 27, 2023 officers responded to 800 North Main, Apartment 24, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of U.S. Currency. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 6, 2023, officers responded to 100 South Main Street, City Park, concerning damage to the park building. The investigation revealed damaged to the restroom stall doors. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 6, 2023, officers responded to 100 East U.S. 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of small bottles of liquor, vapor pens and nicotine pods. A juvenile suspect was identified, property was recovered and the juvenile referred to the Juvenile Office.

On March 6, 2023, officers arrested Cassie M. Schwabe, 38, of El Dorado Springs for a Vernon County Warrant, charging her with Possession of Amphetamine with a $10,000.00 cash bond. She was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On March 7, 2023, officers responded to 308 West Joe Davis concerning a Domestic Assault. A suspect was identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 7, 2023, officers responded to 105 West US 54 Highway, Smoker Friendly, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a backpack containing computer. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On March 7, 2023 officers arrested Matthew J. Richards, 32, of El Dorado Springs, for El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrants charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Exceeded Posted Speed Limit, with a $72.00 bond, Animal at Large, with a $82.00 bond, Stealing/larceny/Theft, with a $131.50 bond, Shoplifting, with a $131.50 bond, Littering, with a $81.50 bond and Possess Drug Paraphernalia, with a $181.50 bond. He was released after a court appearance.

On March 12, 2023, officers responded to 415 South Main concerning property damage. The investigation revealed damage to a privacy fence and post. A report taken and the investigation continues.
