In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 106 requests for assistance this past week, July 3-9. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 4, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 17, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 15, All Other Requests for Assistance 61, Summons 5.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On July 4, 2023, officers assisted the Nevada Police Department concerning a stolen vehicle.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Tyler J. Pate, 25, of Stockton, for the probable cause of stealing a motor vehicle. He was transferred to Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, pending a warrant. The vehicle was recovered.

On July 5, 2023, officers responded to 509 North Main Street concerning a domestic disturbance.  A juvenile suspect has been identify, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 5, 2023, officers responded to 115 East US 54 Highway, Pitt Stop, concerning a shoplifting. The investigation revealed the theft of 7 Red Bull energy drinks. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Brandy J. Drake, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of shoplifting. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On July 5, 2023, officers responded to the 100 block of West Hightower concerning a peace disturbance.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 6, 2023, officers responded to 407 South Main Street, Post Office, concerning property damage. The investigation revealed damage to Post Office boxes in the lobby area.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 6, 2023, officers responded to 110 South Jackson, City Pool, concerning Trespassing and Tampering with Property. The investigation revealed pool deck furniture and trash cans had been thrown into the swimming pool.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 6, 2023, officers responded to 303 South St. James concerning the larceny of a bicycle.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 6, 2023, officers responded to 211 West Hickory concerning a larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of an oxygen tank. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 7, 2023, officers responded to 227 US 54 Highway, Pete’s Convenience Store, concerning shoplifting. The investigation revealed the theft of alcoholic beverages. Juvenile suspects were identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.
