In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 92 requests for assistance this past week, Oct 2-8. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 2, Animal Control 12, Assist Other Agencies 11, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 39, All Other Requests for Assistance 28, Summons 2.

Animal Control

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On October 2, 2023, officers arrested Sean P Cook, 48, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with DWI Persistent Offender, Operated a Motor vehicle without Maintaining Finical Responsibility, and Driving While Revoked, with a $5000.00 cash bond. Cook was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On October 6, 2023, officers responded to 100 East U.S. 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store concerning stealing. The investigation revealed the theft of a Monster energy drink. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Joshua D. Spoonemore, 43, El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of stealing, as well as a Cedar County Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Revoke, with a $500.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.
