In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 55 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 11-17. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 2, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 11, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 6, All Other Requests for Assistance 39, Summons 9.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 11, 2023, officers responded to the intersection of Thompson and South Kirkpatrick Street concerning a larceny of street signs. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 13, 2023, officers responded to 315 West Joe Davis concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of baby Jesus from the nativity scene. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 14, 2023, officers responded to the station concerning a larceny from 101 North Kirkpatrick Street. The investigation revealed the theft of a propane tank and a trash can. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 14, 2023, officers responded to 111 West Marshall Street concerning tampering with a motor vehicle and larceny. The investigation revealed damage to a vehicle’s steering column and the theft of a metal detector.  Suspects have been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 15, 2023, officers arrested John D. Donahue Jr, 39, El Dorado Springs for El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants, charging him with 2 counts of Peace Disturbance and 2 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with $114.00 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On December 16, 2023, officers responded to 314 West Spring concerning property damage. The investigation revealed damage to a vehicle’s window. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 16, 2023, officers arrested Clifford D Bryant, 55, El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Suspended and a Vernon County Warrant, for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Family Offense, Non Support with a $500.00 bond.
