In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 63 requests for assistance this past week, Jan. 8-14. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 5, Animal Control 15, Assist Other Agencies 9, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 34, Summons 6.

Animal Control

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On January 8, 2024, officers arrested Tyler Wilkins, 32, of El Dorado Springs, for a Probation Violation Warrant with the original charge of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle with a CAPIS bond on the 200 block of US 54 Highway.  Wilkins was issued a citation  for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On January 9, 2024, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway for a report of shoplifting.  The investigation led to the arrest of Wesley Shifflett, 32, of El Dorado Springs, for Larceny and Trespassing 1st Degree. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On January 11, 2024, officers responded to 121 West Spring concerning a person there with an active warrant. Officers arrested Stephanie Lynce, 37, of Tunas, on an active St Clair County Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance with a bond of $15000.00 cash or Surety. She was transported to the Cedar County Jail pending bond or a court appearance.

On January 11, 2024, officers responded to 1300 South First Street for a report of a larceny.   The investigation revealed the theft of hydrocortizone cream. A suspect has been identified and a report has been taken,

On January 14, 2024, officers responded to 114 Winner Road for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.  The investigation led to the recovery of the stolen motor vehicle and a juvenile suspect referred to the Juvenile Office.

On January 14, 2024, officers arrested Christopher Christensen, 27, of El Dorado Springs, on an active El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant for Failure to Appear with the original charge of Trespassing with a bond of $157.00 cash or Surety, on the 100 block of West Walnut Street. He was transported to the Cedar County Jail pending bond or a court appearance.

On January 14, 2024, officers arrested Sevren Smith, 21, of El Dorado Springs, on an active El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant for Failure to Appear with the original charge of Minor in Possession with a bond of $146.50 cash or Surety, on the 100 block of West Pine Street. She was released on Bond pending a court appearance.
