In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

April 24 – Officers responded to 1005 East Patricia concerning a reported burglary. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

Officers of the El Dorado Springs Police Department served a search warrant at 308 South Ohio Street, after receiving information concerning illegal drug activity. Evidence of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. The investigation resulted in the arrests of Stephanie M. Meek, 39, and Jason W. Holloway, 20, of El Dorado Springs, charging them with possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released on summonses pending a court appearance. Also arrested was Chayne R. Bittner, 41, of El Dorado Springs, for a Nevada Municipal Court warrant charging him with failure to appear on the original charge of a non-moving violation with a $501.80 cash bond. He was transferred to the Nevada Police Department.

Officers responded to 400 South Park concerning a reported assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Austin R. Burlingame, 19, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with assault. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

April 25 – Officers responded to 100 East 54 Hwy, Casey’s General Store, concerning a report of a suspicious person. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Timothy A. Hocking, 30, of Yuma, AZ, charging him with resisting arrest, stealing and fugitive from justice with an Arizona warrant charging him with parole absconder. Hocking was also arrested for an El Dorado Springs Municipal warrant charging him with failure to appear for the original charge of property damage with a $370 bond. He was transported to the Cedar County jail pending extradition to Arizona.

Officers of the El Dorado Springs Police Department assisted by Cedar County deputies and St. Clair County Sheriff’s K-9 unit served a search warrant for illegal drugs at 1404 South Summer after receiving information of illegal drug activity. Evidence of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. The investigation resulted in the arrests of Kelly L. Klotz, 52, Kerri R. Parks, 45, Steven W. Whitesell, 37 and Tasha L. Whitesell, 26, all of El Dorado Springs for the probable cause of possession of a controlled substance, keeping and maintaining a public nuisance, possession of amphetamine drug paraphernalia, possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Officers completed probable causes statement for these charges. Officers received a Cedar County warrant charging Klotz with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia with a $15,000 cash bond and a Cedar County warrant charging Parks, with possession of a controlled Substance with a $5,000 bond. Klotz was transferred to the Cedar County jail pending bond and a court appearance. Parks was released on bond pending a court appearance.  Steven Whitesell was released pending charges and the Cedar County prosecuting attorney decline to file charges on Tasha Whitesell.

April 27 – Officers responded to 119 West Broadway concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a bicycle. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

Officers responded to 119 West Fields concerning a reported assault. A juvenile suspect was identified and referred to the juvenile office.

Officers responded to the 100 block of South Jackson concerning a reported assault. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

April 28 – Arrested Thomas B. Jewell, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and no valid operator’s license with a $2,500 cash bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County jail pending bond and a court appearance.

April 29 – Arrest Matthew J. Richards, for an active St. Clair County warrant, charging him with failure to a ppear on the original charge of failure to wear a Seatbelt with a $10 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

Officers responded to 207 North Kirkpatrick concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of six, 5 gallon buckets. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

Oficers responded to 118 West Poplar concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of electricity. The investigation resulted in the arrested of John R. Gruber, 37, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with larceny. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

April 30 – Arested Corey Marshall, 29, of El Dorado Springs, for a Vernon County warrant charging him with larceny with a $5,000 bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County jail pending bond and a court appearance.
