ST CLAIR COUNTY COMMISSION

The St. Clair County Commission met on Wednesday, Nov. 15, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Gerald Williams, south commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant. Present.

The Commission and Road and Bride Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed lighting for the Road and Bridge Maintenance Building, locations of motor graders and brush cutters, equipment repair and employee vacation schedules.

Jeanie Cunningham, representing Mike Keith Insurance, spoke with the Commission regarding claim information on employee health insurance.

Recorder Pat Terry visited with the Commission regarding Active Shooters Training for Courthouse employees which was held on Monday evening. Security alarms and fire extinguishers were discussed.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed motor graders and brush cutters locations radio repeater for the department and lights for the maintenance building.

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler stopped in to visit with the Commission.

Jeanie Cunningham, representing Mike Keith Insurance, telephoned to discuss health insurance with the commission and County Clerk Debbie Peden.

The FCCLA, Family Career and Community Leaders of America of the Osceola Public School, along with their instructor Erin Straw, came to rake and haul leaves off the Courthouse lawn as a community service project.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed road, culverts, radio repeater for the department, brush cutters and motor graders locations.

The Commission approved ordering eight small fire extinguishers for offices in the Courthouse.

Jim Noakes, Courthouse Maintenance, was given permission to order three United States of America Flags.

The commission and County Clerk Debbie Peden discussed health insurance renewal.

A salary commission meeting was held elected officials.

The Commission received a telephone call regarding a culvert located on SE 700 Rd. The situation is being checked by the Road and Bridge Department.

Commission met Thursday, Nov. 30, with all present.

David Knight, Public Administrator, was in to discuss mileage reimbursement. Consensus was this would be allowable.

Commission Strope made a motion to enter into an annual agreement with Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning commission for Economic Developer Director. Motion carried.

Presiding Commissioner Salmon spoke with Bates County presiding Commission Wheatley regarding office space for the office of the Public Defender.

Adrian Madrid, representing Secure Tech Systems, demonstrated the company’s updated security system.

Jeanne Beas telephoned to discuss the purchase of computers or tablets for the fire departments from the LEPC budget.

The Commission met with Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran and discussed roads, culverts and locations of motor graders and brush cutters.

The Commission, representatives form City of /Osceola and City of Lowry City and Sheridan Garman-Neeman, Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission, conducted interviews for the position of St. Clair County Economic Developer.

It was reports that SW 871 Rd. is temporarily closed due to culvert replacement at Brackenridge Bridge.

Travis Foley, St. Clair County Emergency Management Director, was in to discuss burning bans and emergency management.

Mike Keith, Mike Keith Insurance, was in and discussed rates for liability insurance renewal.
