The St. Clair County Commission met Tuesday, Dec. 26, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant present.

The Commission was notified by Sheridan Garman-Neeman, Economic Development Director for Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission, that the position of St. Clair County Economic Developer was offered to Teresa Heckenlively and was accepted. The position is to begin on Jan, 8, 2018.

The Commission and Public Administrator David Knight discussed the 2018 Budget for the office of Public Administrator.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Chchran discussed road and bridge department employment, culvert installations and tires for equipment.

Certificates of Merit were awarded to the following County employees: 35 years – Debbie Peden, 30 years – Karen Hubbard, 15 years – Patricia Terry, Catherine Mitchel, Marian McCaslin and David Lile, 10 years – Donald Burns, 5 years – Lynnette Melvin, Vincent Stickney and William Walker.

The Commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed tires for equipment, brush cutters, bridges, roads and conditions of roads.

Presiding Commissioner Salmon signed the Assessment Reimbursement for the quarter of October 2017, through December 2017.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve and sign a Certified Copy of Order of Tax Sale 2017 Over Plus redeemed by Tyler Bellamey, Personal Representative of the Estate of William Joseph Bellamey to fulfill the redemption process for Steven Paxman. Motion carried.

The Commissioners spoke with MoDot Representative Roger Mann and set a meeting for Jan. 24, 2018, to discuss Bridge Inspections Exit Interview.

The Commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed tires for equipment, roads and bridges.

Commissioner Williams made a motion to dispense the Domestic Violence Funds in the amount of $370.19 equally between W.I.N.G.S. and House of Hope. Motion carried.

Mike Nance, representing the Cattlemen’s Association, met with the commissioners regarding the Agri-Ready County Signs. MoDot Representative Eric Turner was contacted and stated permitting process would be stated.

Pat Terry, Recorder, was in regarding the Budget for the Office of the Recorder.

Rhonda Shelby, Treasurer, was in to discuss the County Webpage renewal. Consensus was to continue renewal of the Webpage for two years.

Commissioner, Williams made a motion to pay MAC (Missouri Association of Counties) membership dues for year 2018. Motion carried.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve Land Commissioner’s Sale to Jesse Hughes and Pamela Hughes Lot 5, Block 26, plat 6 to Twin Oaks harbor for a selling price of $340. Motion carried.
