The St. Clair County Commission met Wednesday, July 13, with Presiding Commissioner Robert Salmon, Northern District Commissioner Leroy Strope and Southern District Commissioner Gerald Williams present.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed gravel for NE 75 Rd., equipment repair, culverts and installation and Tucker Bridge.

Treasurer Rhonda Shelby reported there was $499.46 in the Domestic Violence Fund. Commissioner Williams made a motion to disburse $499.46 to W.I.N.G.S. Motion carried.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve the Land Commissioner’s Sale to Michael Perry All of Lots 22, 31, 32, 47, 48, 49 and 50, Block 59, Plat 15 in Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $915. Also, to approve the Land Commissioner’s Sale to Michael Perry All of Lots 54 and 55, Block 59, Plat 15, Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $380. Motion carried.

A local citizen was in regarding cutting ditches and gravel on NE 800 Rd. Commissioner Strope related a date had not been set for this work as weather is the determining factor.

Commission met Monday, July 18, with all present.

A local citizen was in regarding a clogged drainage pipe and need for gravel on NE 1030 Rd. Commissioner Strope stated the Road and Bridge Department would be in the area in a couple of weeks.

The Commission received a telephone call from U.S. Fish and Wildlife regarding permission for two parking lots. One on NE 701 Rd. off BB Hwy. and the other on SE 51 Rd. near Balckjack area. The Commission made an appointment to meet with a representative of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife on Monday, July 20, to view the sites.

The Commission and Custodian Kevin Braddish viewed a painted area of the Courtroom floor. The floor is scheduled to be painted next week.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran  gave the Commission a report on motor graders repairs. Commissioner Strope reported brush in the road near Concord Church location and work previously discussed on NE 800 Rd.

Commission met Wednesday, July 20, with all present.

The Commission left the office with Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran, at 9:17 a.m. to view the road conditions on NE 800 Rd and NE 125 Rd. They returned to the office at 10:15 a.m.

Sheridan Garman-Neeman, St. Clair County economic developer, presented an update on Economic Development for St. Clair County. Neeman reported that a website would soon be available.

St. Clair County Commission met Monday, July 25, with Northern District Commissioner Leroy Strope and Southern District Commissioner Gerald Williams present and Presiding Commissioner Robert Salmon absent.

County Clerk Debbie Peden appointed Commissioner Strope as Acting Presiding Commissioner in the absence of Presiding Commission Salmon.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed roads, hauling gravel and road signs.

The Commission left the office at 9:30 a.m. with Road and Bridge Supervisor Cochran, to meet U.S. Fish and Wildlife Representative Dean Bossert and presiding Commissioner Salmons, to view two areas for parking lots, one at NE 701 Rd. off BB Hwy. and the second area at SE 51 Rd. near Balckjack area. At 1 p.m. Commissioner Salmon, Strope and Williams returned to the office.

CART Revenues received were $54,125.68. $38,871.21 was the portion going to Common Road District. (These funds are allocated per mile of road and are received monthly.)

Out of these revenues, funds are allocated to the following Special Road Districts:

Appleton City Special $2,696.50; Chloe Special $1,771.98; Collins Special $3,466.93; Hillsdale Special $1,771.98; Osceola Special $2,850.58; vista Special $2,696.50.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve the Land Commissioner’s Sale to Thomas King and Larry Cannon All of Lots 25 and 26, Block 73, Plat 19 in Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $460. Also, to approve the Land Commissioner’s Sale to Michael Perry and Olivia Perry All of Lots 40 and 41, Block 59, Plat 15 in Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $381. Motion carried.

Commission met Friday, July 29, with all present.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve and sign Certified Copy of Order of Tax Sale 2015 Over Plus redeemed by Jerry L. Culbert to fulfill redemption process for Wayne Morton. Motion carried.
