The St. Clair County Commission met Monday, Nov. 28, with the following present: Robert Salmon, presiding Ccommissioner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Gerald Williams, south commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk, Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant and Brandy Bourland, newspaper reporter.

A discussion was held on Plat Books and the ordering of Large Wall Maps, if needed.

The Commission and County Clerk and Budget Office Debbie Peden worked on the Commission Budgets for year 2017.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran and the Commission discussed repairs on equipment, pipe and culvert installations and rock.

Mike Keith with the Commission  presented the renewal rates for Liability/Property Insurance for the County. After discussion, Commissioner Strope made a motion to accept the insurance quote from Mike Keith Insurance for the 2017 liability/Property insurance coverage. Motion carried.

The St. Clair County Commission met Wednesday, Nov. 30, with the following present: Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Gerald Williams, south commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant.

Kevin Paxman was in to discuss with the Commission widening a portion of SE 575 Rd. and culvert installation.

Due to cancellation of Land Commissioner’s Sale dated Oct. 5, 2016, to Heidi Trofibio Ford for Lots 49 and 50, Block 10, Plat 3 of Twin Oaks Harbor, Commissioner Williams made a motion to rescind the approval of this sale. Motion carried.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve Land Commissioner’s Sale to Kevin Nix All of Lots 49 and 50, Block 10, Plat 3 of Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $580. Motion carried.

Treasurer Rhonda Shelby met with the Commission to discuss future plans for the courtyard landscaping.

A representative from Century Link was in to discuss the Courthouse telephone system and suggested a new battery backup for the telephone system.

The St. Clair County Commission met Monday, Dec. 5, with the following present: Robert Salmon, presiding commisisoner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Gerald Williams, south commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk, Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant and Brandy Bourland, newspaper reporter.

The Commissioner further discussed the amount of County contribution toward the premiums for employee health insurance.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran and the Commissioners discussed equipment and construction on the Tucker Bridge located on SE 1425 Rd.

Bids on miscellaneous office furniture were opened at 10 a.m. One bid of $55 was received on the oak wooden table and two chairs. One bid was received for $3 each for 8-10 former jury chairs. Decision on bids were tabled for the present.

The Commissioners held a meeting with Travis Tindall, representing nForm Architecture, Sheriff Scott Keeler and Chief Deputy Mike Crocker. The purpose of the meeting was regarding additional office space for the Sheriff’s Department.

The railing on the new south ramp portion of the Courthouse sidewalk has been installed and is now available for use.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to accept to bids received for miscellaneous office furniture. Motion carried.

Commissioner Williams telephoned the Missouri Department of Transportation to renew Road and Bridge Department’s Oversize/Overweigh Permits.

At 11:12 a.m. Commissioners left to view the construction work progress on the Tucker Bridge located on SE 1425 Rd.

Charlie Tomas, representing Viebrock Sale and Service, was in to visit with the Commissioners.

Sheridan Garman-Neeman, St. Clair County Economic Developer, updated the Commissioners on proposed projects for the County.

The Commissioners discussed brush cutting, brush cutting equipment and locations.

John Farrell was in to visit with the Commission regarding employee health insurance and retirement contributions.

Frank Blakemore, representing Garver USA, telephoned to speak with the Commissioners regarding upcoming bridge projects.

The Commissioners and County Clerk/Budget Officer Debbie Peden reviewed and discussed County Budgets.

Presiding Commissioner Salmon signed the employee health insurance application with Life Style Health Plans with Mike Keith Insurance.
