The St. Clair County Commission met Wednesday, May 4, with Presiding Commissioner Robert Salmon, Northern District Commissioner Leroy Strope and Southern District Commissioner Gerald Williams present.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed equipment repairs, culverts, roads and road signs.

The submitted final paper work on Weaubleau Creek Bridge at Gerster was signed by the Commission.

Presiding Commissioner Salmon made a motion to approve Order of Consent for Community Memorial Hospital District DBA Ellett Memorial Hospital to abolish sub-districts according to Missouri State Statutes 206.090.1, paragraph 4. Motion carried.

Sheridan German-Neeman, St. Clair County Economic Developer, was in to update the Commission on meetings she has attended and proposed projects.

Commission met Wednesday, May 11, with all present.

A report was received from the sheriff’s office of 124 federal inmates on May 9, and 121 on May 10.

Sales Tax Revenues for March were $19,744.30. Sales Tax Revenues are down $1,777.67 compared to one year ago. Sales Tax Revenues for the year are up $3,509.58.

Flynn Midwest telephoned the Commission with an update they had received regarding the courthouse roof warranty with GAF.

No bids were received on the Road and Bridge Department’s 2003 international Dump Truck that was advertised for sale.

Commission met Monday, May 16, with all present.

A report was received from the sheriff’s office of 121 federal inmates on May 12, 120 on May 13, and 120 on May 16.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve Tax Additions and Abatements #100 through #102. Motion carried.

Note: Tax Abatements and Additions are necessary where there is a correction, up or down, to assessment throughout the year. These changes must be approved by the County Commission.

The Commission spoke with a representative of GAF, the company which has the courthouse roof warranty. The representative stated they would research the matter and then telephone the Commission.

No bids were received on the bid request which was advertised for sidewalks for the courthouse yard.

Commission met Wednesday, May 18, with all present.

A proposal was submitted by Motley Dozing Construction on the Courthouse sidewalks. Commission Williams made a motion to accept the submitted proposal by Motley Dozing Construction for the courthouse sidewalks and railing. Motion carried.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed roads and road conditions.

At 10:50 a.m. the Commission recessed to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony at Rivers Crossing Life Center and returned at 11:20 a.m.

Kevin Braddish, Courthouse Maintenance, was in to discuss painting the courthouse interior floors. Consensus was to begin the work possibly over Memorial Holiday weekend.

The Commission met Wednesday, May 25, with all present.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran and the Commission discussed road and conditions due to the recent rains, trucks and repair and department vehicles.

A local citizen telephoned regarding a condition on SW 50 Rd. The Commission stated they would check on this matter.

The Commission continued to prioritize upcoming bridge replacements.

Mike Himes, representing St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenter Regional Council, was in to introduce his company and visit with the Commission.

Commission met Tuesday, May 31, with all present.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed equipment maintenance, employee pay rates and culverts.

A representative of Liberty Nation Insurance was in to visit with the /commission. The Commission relayed that Benefits Directs needed to be contacted as this is the company who handles the supplemental insurance for employees.

A telephone call was received from a local citizen regarding the condition of NW 350 Rd.

The Commission discussed cutting and disposal of a tree on SW 100 Rd.

Commission met Monday, June 6, with all present.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed equipment maintenance, culverts and installations and road conditions.

The Commission discussed repair of bridge on SE 1425 Rd.

A telephone call was received from a local citizen regarding the road washing out and a culvert on SE 800 Rd.

The Commission signed paper work for U.S. Department of Housing Urban Development for West Central.
