ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 10 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of Sept. 16-23, 2019.

Warrant Arrests

Joedy Hill- On Sept. 23, Joedy Hill, 42, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on an original class B misdemeanor trespass on real property. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

The original charge comes from a St. Clair County investigation in June of 2019. Hill had returned to a property he once resided at after being banned from the property.

Chelsea McDaniel- On Sept. 21, Chelsea McDaniel, 22, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B misdemeanor trespass on real property. McDaniel was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE Highway PP in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Amber Williams. Williams stated that the issue was with the female sitting on the porch. The deputy made contact with the female, later identified as Chelsea McDaniel. McDaniel stated she is the property owner and she is not leaving. The real property owner was verified and he stated that McDaniel needed to leave the property.

Nickolas Mitchel- On Sept. 21, Nickolas Mitchel, 28, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to pay fines on an original class A misdemeanor resisting/interfering with arrest, detention, or stop. Bond is set at $300 cash only.

The original charge comes from an Appleton City Police Department investigation in June of 2019.

Seth Gruefe- On Sept. 20, Seth Gruefe, 26, Montrose, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Vernon County warrant for failure to appear in court. Bond is set at $55 cash only.

Michael Casteel- On Sept. 19, Michael Casteel, 56, Osceola, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrants charging him with two separate counts of a class E felony burglary in the second degree. Total bond is set at $17,500 cash or surety.

The warrants come after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 101 Road in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Ronald Johnson. Johnson stated when he got to his cabin he noticed someone had broke through the back door. Johnson stated that he was missing a DeWalt fan and a SOG knife. Johnson also stated while he was looking through his cabin he could hear talking coming from the cabin next door and he knew no one was supposed to be there.

The deputy went next door to the second cabin and made contact with the person inside. The male subject, later identified as Michael Casteel, came out of the cabin and placed his hands in front of him as if to be cuffed. Casteel admitted to being inside the first cabin and taking some belongings. The belongings were later identified and returned to the owner.

Miriam Wareham (file photo)- On Sept. 19, Miriam Wareham, 57, Montrose, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a probation violation on original charges of a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only.

The arrest comes after the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on East 5th St. in Appleton City in March of 2018. During the search, drug paraphernalia, that tested positive for methamphetamine, was found in Wareham’s bedroom.

Lisa Antwiler- On Sept. 17, Lisa Antwiler, 35, Windsor, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Polk County warrant for a probation violation. This is a no bond warrant.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on NW 1000 Road in reference to a trespasser. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Clifford Parson. Parson stated the confused female sitting on his porch did not belong there and wanted her gone.

The deputy made contact with the female, later identified as Lisa Antwiler. Antwiler stated she was trying to walk to her friend’s house. A record check revealed Antwiler had a probation violation out of Polk County.

Loren Wilson- On Sept. 17, Loren Wilson, 22, Montrose, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge. Bond is set at $250 cash or surety.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to Goodrich Drive to assist with the paramedics that were on scene. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the paramedics. They stated the male subject was passed out when they arrived on scene. The male subject was told to leave by the resident, but would not.

The male subject, later identified as Loren Wilson, became uncooperative with the deputies and the paramedics and would not leave the residence. A record check revealed Wilson had a Henry County warrant.

John Chiles, Jr.- On Sept. 16, John Chiles, Jr., 43, Deepwater, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class A misdemeanor domestic assault in the fourth degree. This is a no bond warrant.

The second warrant charges him with a class A misdemeanor domestic assault in the fourth degree and a class E felony resisting/interfering with arrest, detention, or stop. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

The second warrant comes after deputies were dispatched to a residence on NE 1103 Private Road in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a witness who stated they observed Chiles grab the victim by the hair and jerk her to the ground.

Levi Dotson- On Sept. 16, Levi Dotson, 34, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an unclassified misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended-second or subsequent offense. Bond is set at $578.50 cash only.

The original charge stems from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy in November of 2015.

Stolen Vehicle Out of Collins

On Sept. 23, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to 16th Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Jackie Smith. Smith stated his gold in color, four door, 2004 Cadillac Deville was stolen from his driveway during the night.

Stealing in Lowry City

On Sept. 21, a St. Clair County deputy received a phone call from a Joyce Clark in reference to a stolen motorcycle from her residence on NE Highway CC.

Clark stated the motorcycle is a black in color 1991 Yamaha Virago with black saddle bags.

Burglary in Osceola

On Sept. 20, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SW Highway WW in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Dawn Stewart. Stewart stated they came to the property to mow the grass and take care of the property. Stewart stated when she entered the house she noticed stuff knocked over and on the ground. She also noticed belongings were missing. Stewart stated when they walked the property they noticed two windows had been broken and a door was damaged.

Items missing at time of report were a 55 inch television, VCR, Blue Ray DVD player, dehumidifier, air purifier, portable air tank, Black and Decker weed eater with charger, and other miscellaneous items. No known value at this time.

Stealing in El Dorado Springs

On Sept. 19, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SW 300 Road in reference to a stealing. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Lewis Morgan. Morgan stated that someone tried to kick in the front door to property but did not get through the door. The suspect did break the door frame. He then stated someone had came to his property and stole two Skil saws, two reciprocating saws, a 16 inch band saw with stand, a ten inch table saw, and a miter saw, along with miscellaneous hand tools. Total estimated loss value $715.
