ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made six arrests and took three burglary reports during the week of Feb. 24 through March 3, 2020.

Warrant Arrests

Amber Black- On Feb. 29, Amber Black, 27, Schell City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on multiple Vernon County warrants for failure to appear in court. These are no bond warrants.

Rex Gash- On Feb. 29, Rex Gash, 49, Higginsville, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B misdemeanor property damage in the second degree. Gash was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Ninnescah Park in reference to property damage. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Steve Tyson. Tyson stated Gash was driving a Bobcat tractor through people’s yards, tearing out trees, and digging ditches along with tearing up the road.

A request for prosecution was signed.

Brandon Huckaby- On Feb. 28, Brandon Huckaby, 36, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on a class B misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended. Bond is set at $750 cash only.

The original charge comes from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy in June of 2019.

Jamie Azar- On Feb. 27, Jamie Azar, 38, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class E felony assault in the third degree. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The warrant comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to a residence on NE 1021Road in reference to a domestic assault in January of 2020. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the female victim. She stated that Azar had punched her in the face and kicked her in the groin area. Azar did admit to hitting the female victim.

Bryan Beavers- On Feb. 27, Bryan Beavers, 21, Kansas City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 11-35 grams. Bond is set at $195.50 cash only.

The original charge comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Beavers was a passenger in for a moving violation in September of 2018. During the stop, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana. When the deputy questioned Beavers about it, Beavers handed the deputy the marijuana from his person. Beavers admitted to the marijuana to being his.

Samantha Leonard- On Feb. 27, Samantha Leonard, 18, Weaubleau, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B felony arson in the first degree. Leonard was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to a residence on NE Highway B in reference to arson. Upon arrival, the deputies spoke with David Leonard. Leonard stated that his daughter, Samantha Leonard, and her boyfriend Ricky Sherlin Jr., had been to his residence earlier in the day. A domestic dispute occurred between the three parties. Samantha and Ricky left the residence.

A short time later, while David was sitting in the house, Samantha returned to the residence and argued with David. Samantha went to the upstairs of the residence. While exiting the residence, Samantha had an arm full of clothing.

After a few minutes, David could a crackling of a fire. David went to the upstairs and opened the storage room. Fire and smoke came out of the storage room.

Deputies collected photographs and evidence from the scene.

The deputies contacted the Fire Marshall out of Springfield to conduct an investigation.

Burglary in Osceola

On March 1, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on NE Highway B in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Joseph Vieira. Vieira stated while he was out of town, someone broke into his residence a stole multiple items. Items missing include a 20 inch TV, a bag of wood carving tools, a blue Pelican case with tattoo equipment inside, a new Levi Strauss jacket, and six pairs of Rosh jeans. Total estimated loss value is $3,520.

Vieira has named a suspect. Evidence and photos were collected from the scene.

Burglary in Collins

On March 1, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 900 Road in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Bryan Purtle. Purtle stated when he arrived at his property and noticed the back door of the residence had been pried open. Purtle stated that a grey Craftsman toolbox and a Moultrie trail camera were missing. Total estimated loss value is $300.

Burglary in Osceola

On Feb. 27, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to business on NE 501 Road in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Myron Duskin. Duskin stated he received a phone call from an unknown person about some car parts. Duskin advised the person he was not at the office right at the moment and would be there in a while. Duskin stated when he went to the office he noticed his Kinoe S electric knife sharpener missing.

Duskin stated the person called back the next day. Duskin stated he was away from the office and it would be a little while before he got back there.

Duskin advised when he went to his shop he noticed several items missing. Items missing include: a Stihl 350 chainsaw, a Victory torch/hose set, and a Gage Miller wire welder. Total estimated loss value is $1050.
