Text Caster

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were already able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made six arrests and took multiple reports during the week of May 25th, 2021 through May 31st, 2021.

Callahan, Curtis – On May 27th, Curtis Callahan, 33, Deepwater, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a St. Clair County Warrant for a Felony charge of Child Molestation – 1st Degree, a Felony charge of Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy – Deviate Sexual Intercourse – Person Less Than 14 Years of Age – Aggravated Sexual Offense, and a Felony charge of Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child Under 15 – 1st Offense. The bond is $100,000.00 cash only.

Kiger, Robert – On May 27th, Robert Kiger, 23, Bolivar, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a Bolivar PD Warrant for Failure to Appear – Infraction/Municipal Ordinance. Robert was held at the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $100.00 cash only.

Lee, Oriana – On May 28th, Oriana Lee, 30, Kansas City, was arrested by Olathe Kansas Sheriff’s Office on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant with the original charges being a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Amphetamine or Methamphetamine. Oriana was transferred to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $2,500.00 cash or surety.

Hansen, Zackory – On May 30th, Zackory Hansen, 24, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Misdemeanor charge of DWI – Prior. Zackory was booked and released, pending formal charges.

Specker, Timothy – On May 31st, Timothy Specker, 56, Marshall, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Felony charge of Domestic Assault – 4th Degree – 3rd or Subsequent Offense. Timothy was booked and released, pending formal charges.

Sipes, Eric – On May 31st, Eric Sipes, 41, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Johnson County, Kansas warrant with the original charge being Harassment – Phone Calls. Due to it being an out of state warrant, Eric is currently being held on no bond.

Property Damage in Brush Creek

On May 28th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to Brush Creek Boat Ramp in reference to property damage occurring. Upon arrival, the deputy noted multiple ruts in the grass areas of the boat ramp and the park area. The reporting party noted that the damage to the property/grass areas had to have happened on the evening of May 27th through the morning of May 28th. Photographs of the area and the damage were taken, alongside a report.

Property Damage in Lowry City

On May 29th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to East 5th Street in Lowry City, in reference to property damage occurring. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim, who reported that on the evening of May 28th, they observed that the back window of their vehicle had been broken out, the front windshield had cracks in it, and that rocks were present inside of the vehicle. Photographs and a report were taken, and the damage was estimated to cost around $500.00.
