Burglary at the Port Convenience Store

On June 9th, St. Clair County deputies worked with Osceola Police Department and responded to the Port Convenience Store/Gas Station in Osceola, in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the deputies noticed the front door to the Port Convenience Store was broken, and the power to the building was out. Stealing in El Dorado Springs

On June 10th, a St. Clair County Deputy responded to Southwest 401 Road near El Dorado Springs in reference to a stealing. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the victim who stated that a Husquarna 450 Rancher Chainsaw was noted to be missing from the back of his truck on June 5th.

Scam in St. Clair County

On June 14th, a St. Clair County deputy received a call for service in regards to a scam. The deputy reached out to the victim over the phone, who reported a man claiming to be with the Social Security Administration stated that the victim’s Social Security number was found to be involved with a crime. Shortly after, the victim was transferred over to someone claiming to be with the DEA, who repeated the same story.

The victim was then told to purchase varying money cards from the store, and to text said numbers to the scam artists. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that no law enforcement agency would contact someone by phone and require them to pay money over the phone, and that a red flag involving scam artists is the requirement of gift cards, Amazon Cards, Paypal, Cashapp, or anything similar.
