Text Caster

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made six arrests and took multiple reports during the week of July 27th, 2021 through August 2nd, 2021.

Lasswell, Mason – On July 28th, Mason Lasswell, 20, Warrensburg, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Henry County Failure to Appear Misdemeanor warrant. Mason was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $86.00 cash only.

Meyers, Brian – On July 30th, Brian Meyers, 52, Deepwater, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Lincoln County Failure to Appear warrant, and a Lincoln County Probation Violation warrant. Brian was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the total bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

Patterson, Daryl – On July 30th, Daryl Patterson, 32, Independence, was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Non-Support – Total Arrears in Excess of 12 Monthly Payments Due Under Order of Support. Daryl was transported to the St. Clair County Jail, and the bond was set at $1,000.00 cash only.

Jacobs, Ross – On July 30th, Ross Jacobs, 36, Ozark, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Class B Misdemeanor charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Ross was transported to the St. Clair County Jail, then booked and released, pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Ross was the driver of, for failing to change lanes for multiple emergency vehicles that were displaying their lights. Upon making contact with Ross, the deputy noted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle, and when asked about it, Ross admitted to drinking alcohol while driving. A chemical breath test was taken, and Ross blew over the legal limit of 0.08.

Greathouse, Gary Jr. – On August 2nd, Gary Greathouse Jr., 24, Stockton, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Gary was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $10,000.00 cash or surety.

The arrest was made after a pedestrian check was performed by a St. Clair County deputy, when patrolling Lowry City. Upon making contact with Gary, the deputy found a knife, a 9mm magazine, a partial box of 9mm ammunition, a Blink doorbell camera, a Go Pro camera, and a glass pipe that field tested positive for methamphetamine, on Gary’s person.

Extra Information: It should also be noted that multiple items found on Gary’s person were later identified to be stolen, and that Gary is a person of interest/suspect in a string of thefts from the inside of vehicles in the Lowry City area. Hill, Jimmy – On August 2nd, Jimmy Hill, 51, Kansas, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a St. Clair County warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of DWI – Habitual. Jimmy was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and the bond was set at $5,000.00 cash only.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Jimmy was the driver of, for crossing into the opposite lane on the highway, causing a citizen and the deputies to swerve into the shoulder to avoid striking it. Upon making contact with Jimmy, the deputies noted a strong odor of intoxicants coming from him, and that his speech was slurred. Jimmy did admit to drinking alcohol.

Stealing in Lowry City

On August 2nd, a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in Lowry City, in reference to a stealing. Upon making contact with the victim, it was reported that a green in color John Deere 5510 Tractor was stolen from the victim’s field on South 13 Highway. The tractor was attached to a green in color John Deere Flail Mower, and the total value of loss was estimated at $21,500.00.
