Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made ­­­­3 arrest and took multiple reports during the weeks of August 3rd, 2021 through August 16th, 2021.

Samples, Joshua- On August 3rd, 2021, Joshua Samples, 40, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a Dekalb County Failure to Appear warrant, Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle with Lights and Sirens Initiated, and Possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams, after a traffic stop and search of the vehicle was conducted. The bond for the warrant was set at $5,000 cash only.

Munson, James- On August 6th, 2021, James Munson, 56, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or less of Marijuana/ synthetic Cannabinoid, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after the vehicle was investigated for suspicious activity.

Seek, James – On August 16th , 2021, James Seek, 34, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for Property Damage, following a report of damage to personal property. James was transported to the St. Clair County Jail where a warrant was later obtained, setting a bond of $15,000 cash or surety.

Theft in Lowry City

On Monday, August 2nd, 2021 a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in regards to theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that several miscellaneous items, a brown wallet, and a ring were missing from the car. A report was taken and upon further investigation, multiple missing items were recovered from a nearby ditch. At this time the wallet and ring have not been recovered and the investigation is still ongoing.

Burglary in Lowry City

On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 a St. Clair County deputy responded to a walk-in at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office in regards to a burglary. Upon meeting with the victim, it was reported that someone forcefully entered the garage and stole a white Wells Cargo enclosed trailer, a kicker boat motor, a chainsaw, and other miscellaneous items. The estimated value of the items stolen is $3,289.00. A report was taken of the incident and the investigation is still ongoing.

Assist Benton County

On Saturday, August 14, 2021 a St. Clair County deputy assisted Benton County for a possible burglary in process. Upon arriving to the property, the fence was laying down, there was trash in the driveway, and the top part of the door was broken. Deputies cleared the house to make sure that no one was inside and canvassed the area looking for the suspect. Deputies took a report on the incident and handed all information over to Benton County for further investigation.

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made ­­­­2 arrest and took multiple reports during the weeks of August 17th, 2021 through August 23rd, 2021.

McCarty, Dennis- On August 19, 2021, Dennis McCarty, 26, Sedalia, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy on a Henry County failure to appear warrant. The bond for the warrant was set at $2,500 cash or surety.

Vandermeyden, Isaiah- On August 23, 2021, Isaiah Vandermeyden, 20, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy on a St. Clair county warrant for trespassing in the 2nd degree. The bond for the warrant was set at $250 cash or surety.

Theft in Lowry City

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021 a St. Clair county deputy responded to a call for service in reference to a stealing at the Lowry City gas station. Upon arrival the victim reported that multiple miscellaneous items, a wallet, a Missouri ID, a phone, and a stun gun, as well as an unknown amount of money were taken from the car. A report of the incident was taken and forwarded to the Lowry City Police Department for further investigation.

Burglary near Rockville

On Monday, August 23, 2021 a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service regarding some stolen property. Upon arriving to the property the victim reported that old singer sewing machine, two old lanterns, some china, an old spittoon that was brass and some jewelry was missing from the residence. The victim is unsure of the value of the items that were taken.  A report of the incident was taken and the investigation is still ongoing. At this time none of the stolen items have been recovered.
