Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made 12 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of November 16th, 2021 through November 22nd, 2021.

Wilson, James- On November 16, 2021, James Wilson, 49, Dunnegan, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on charges for 1st Degree Trespassing. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a trespassing at Appleton City Manor.

Keith, Porsche- On November 18, 2021, Porsche Keith, 29, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a St. Clair County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The bond was set at $5,000.00 cash or surety. On November 19, 2021, Porsche Keith was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a warrant out of Lowry City Police Department on charges for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. The bond was set at $5,000.00 cash or surety.

Richards, Edward- On November 19, 2021, Edward Richards, 65, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a St. Clair County warrant on charges for Failure to Register as Sex Offender and Prior Offender to reside within 1,000 feet of a School or Childcare Facility after Conviction/Plea. The bond was set at $150,000.00 cash or surety.

Houk, Renee- On November 19, 2021, Renee Houk, 42, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a Henry County warrant on charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The bond was set at $5,000.00 cash only.

Smith, David- On November 20, 2021, David Smith, 52, Independence, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a County/ Private Jail, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Smith was also arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a warrant out of Henry County for Failure to Appear and the bond was set at $10.00 cash only, and a warrant out of Clinton Police Department for Failure to Appear and the bond was set at $84.50 cash only. The arrests were made after a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle for having expired registration. A search of the vehicle was conducted and illegal substances were found. After Smith was booked into the jail, a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 21, 2021, David Smith was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a St. Clair County warrant on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The bond was set at $30,000.00 cash or surety.

Blum, Shannon- On November 20, 2021, Shannon Blum, 49, Lee’s Summit, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The arrests were made after a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle for having expired registration. A search of the vehicle was conducted and illegal substances were found.

Smith, Corey- On November 21, 2021, Corey Smith, 32, El Dorado Springs, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a domestic disturbance. Upon further investigation of the injuries sustained by the victim, Smith was arrested. After Smith was booked into the jail, a warrant was issued for his arrest and on November 22, 2021, Corey Smith was arrested on a warrant out of St. Clair County on charges of 2nd Degree Domestic Assault. The bond was set at $25,000.00 cash only.

Brown, Clifford- On November 21, 2021, Clifford Brown, 48, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service regarding reckless driving.

Baum, William- On November 22, 2021, William Baum, 51, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Driving While Revoked. The arrest was made after a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was not registered and operating with faulty equipment.

Stealing in Appleton City

On Wednesday, November 17, 2021 deputies responded to a call for service in regards to stolen property. Upon making contact with the victim, he reported that two tool boxes were missing from his residence, one from his vehicle and one from his property. The victim reported that the stolen property is estimated to be worth $1,000.00. A report of the incident was taken and the investigation is still ongoing.
