Text Caster

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made ­­­3 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of November 23rd, 2021 through November 29th, 2021.

Evans, Paul- On November 25, 2021, Paul Evans, 32, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on charges of Domestic Assault and Property Damage. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a domestic dispute not in progress.

Ward, Alisha- On November 25, 2021, Alisha Ward, 32, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a Bates County warrant for five charges of Failure to Appear. The bond was set at $4,450.00 cash or surety.

Gurley, Christopher- On November 27, 2021, Christopher Gurley, 38, Lowry City, was arrested by St. Clair County deputies on charges of Knowing Burning and Exploding. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a possible arson west of Lowry City. Deputies were advised by dispatch that witnesses had reported multiple fires within the same area. Deputies were also advised by witnesses that they saw a white in color Chevrolet pickup with a camper shell attached to the back leaving the scene of where the fires were started. Witnesses were also able to provide dispatch with the license plate number on the truck, which came back to Christopher Gurley. Upon further investigation, deputies found smoke markings on the vehicle belonging to Gurley.

Stolen Property in Collins

On November 28, 2021, deputies responded to a call for service in reference to some stolen items. Upon making contact with the victim, he stated that he was missing multiple boxes of ammunition and a hunting knife. The victim reported that the stolen property was worth about $150.00. A report was taken, and extra patrol was requested for the area. The investigation is still ongoing.
