Text Caster

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made 10 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of December 14th, 2021 through December 20th, 2021.

Cole, Ian- On December 14, 2021, Ian Cole, 34, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a vehicle that was stuck in the ditch. Upon arrival, deputies noticed that Cole was under the influence and upon further investigation of the incident, he was placed under arrest.

Duvall, Sarah- On December 15, 2021, Sarah Duvall, 43, Independence, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a St. Clair County warrant for Probation Revocation. The bond was set at $1,000.00 cash only.

Giffen, Cecily- On December 15, 2021, Cecily Giffen, 30, independence, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a St. Clair County warrant for Probation Violation, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The bond was set at $5,000.00 cash or surety.

Larson, Dimitri- On December 16, 2021, Dimitri Larson, 25, Overland Park, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. The arrest was made after a traffic stop was conducted and illegal substances were located.

Landis, James- On December 17, 2021, James Landis, 32, Roscoe, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arrest was made after a traffic stop was conducted and illegal substances were located.

Tindall, Janie- On December 17, 2021, Janie Tindall, 62, Pleasant Hill, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arrest was made after a traffic stop was conducted and illegal substances were located.

Hobbs, Ann- On December 19, 2021, Ann Hobbs, 48, Mt. Vernon, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy for Driving While Revoked and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arrest was made after a traffic stop was conducted and deputies were advised that Hobbs had a revoked license and narcotics were located.

Hart, Howard- On December 20, 2021, Howard Hart, 45, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on charges of 1st Degree Attempted rape. Upon further investigation of the case, Hart was arrested while incarcerated, on a St. Clair County warrant for charges of1st Degree felony rape with no bond.

Ball, Bobbi- On December 20, 2021, Bobbi Ball, 44, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a Hickory County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The bond was set at $20,000.00 cash only.

Benbrook, Theresa- On December 20, 2021, Theresa Benbrook, was arrested by a St. Clair County Deputy on a Franklin County, Ottawa, Kansas warrant for charges of Battery. The bond was set at $500.00 cash or surety.

Stealing in Osceola

On December 20, 2021 Deputies responded to a call for service in regards to stolen property. Upon making contact with the victim, he stated that he was missing a 3500 kilowatt Predator generator. The victim reported that the generator was last seen on December 20, 2021 and was still in its original packaging from the store. A report was taken and the investigation is still ongoing.
