Text Caster

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made 2 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of February 22nd, 2022 through February 28th, 2022.

Roberts, Jacob- On February 22, 2022, Jacob Roberts, 42, Springfield, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies for Assault in the 4th Degree. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service regarding a domestic dispute. Upon further investigation of the situation, deputies arrested Jacob and transported him to the St. Clair County Jail.

Thomas, Viviana- On February 25, 2022, Viviana Thomas, 36, Osceola, was arrested by St. Clair County Deputies on two St. Clair County warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The bond was set at $10,000.00 cash or surety.

Vandalism in St. Clair County

On February 28, 2022, deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a vandalism that occurred at Fox Run boat ramp. Upon making contact with the victim, she stated that while she was on the lake fishing, her Chevy Tahoe was vandalized. She reported that her windows had been smashed in, the roof rack was partially ripped off, and several items from inside the vehicle were stolen. The damage to the Tahoe was estimated to be $18,000.00 and the stolen fishing poles were valued at $300.00. Deputies took a report and searched for evidence. The investigation is still ongoing.

Stolen property in Iconium

On February 28, 2022, deputies responded to a call for service in regards to stolen property. Upon making contact with the victim, he stated that someone stole his Caterpillar 287C skid steer sometime between 02/21/2022 and 2/28/2022. The skid steer is yellow and black in color with a grapple bucket on the front and is valued at $45,000.00. Deputies took a report and the investigation is still ongoing.
