Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests and Reports

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made arrests and took multiple reports during the week of February 13, 2024 through February 19, 2024 

February 13, 2024- St. Clair County deputies received a return call regarding harassment in the Collins area. Information was taken and investigation is ongoing.

February 14, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to a residence on Southeast 400 Road, Osceola, for a report of a deceased subject. Coroner arrived to take possession of the body.

February 14, 2024- St. Clair County deputies arrested Kevin Davis at the Henry County Jail on St. Clair County warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Domestic Assault-4th degree. Bond is $7,500 cash surety.

February 14, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to South Business Highway 13, Collins, for a report of theft. Vending machine had been broken into and the money was taken from the machine. Investigation is ongoing.

February 14, 2024- St. Clair County deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 13 and Southeast 650 Road, Osceola, for speeding.  Daniel Wire was arrested and is being charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kara Scott was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

February 15, 2024- St. Clair County deputies arrested John Lee at the St. Clair County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond is $25,000 cash surety.

February 16, 2024- St. Clair County deputies arrested Jeffrey Lyon at the St. Clair County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Probation Violation-Assault 4th Degree. Bond is $15,000 cash surety.

February 16, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to Southeast 700 Road, Collins, for possible threats. Martina Dismang was arrested and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

February 16, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to East 3rd Street, Lowry City, for found property. Property was retrieved and taken to St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office. Investigation is ongoing.

February 17, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to South 16th Street, Collins, for a disturbance. Report taken and parties separated.

February 17, 2024- St. Clair County deputies arrested Alicia Hancock on a St. Clair County warrant for Driving While Revoked/Suspended-2nd or 3rd Offense. Bond is $5,000 cash only.

February 17, 2024 at approximately 1445 hours, a St Clair County Deputy was attempting to serve a Full Order of Protection paper at a residence located on SW 574 road in rural St Clair County.  The deputy exited the patrol vehicle and walked to the front door.  The property owner opened the door a few inches to speak with the deputy.  The deputy advised he had a paper for a resident of the home.   The property owner fully opened the door, two dogs immediately exited the doorway.  One dog attacked the deputy, biting the deputy on the hand.  The deputy yanked his hand back and started to retreat.  The dog pursued the deputy with his hackles up.  The deputy, fending off the attack, pulled his service pistol and fired, striking the dog. The dog died on scene.  The deputy was treated and received stitches at the emergency room and released.

February 19, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to Northeast Highway 13, Lowry City, for a report of shoplifting. Items stolen were charms for a charm bracelet. **Update** Suspect returned items on own.

February 19, 2024- St. Clair County deputies responded to Northeast 881 Private Road, Deepwater, for a report of threats. Investigation is ongoing.
