Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made six arrests, took a report of stealing, a fraud report and a property damage report during the week of Dec. 25-Jan. 1, 2017.

Warrant Arrests

Dec. 28 – Michael Salisbury, 55, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy during a traffic stop for  a class D felony of possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Salisbury was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over the vehicle Salisbury was driving for speeding and a vehicle violation. After being questioned, Salisbury turned over the pipe he had in his coat pocket. A search of the vehicle revealed a vile with a crystal like substance. The pipe and vile did test positive for methamphetamine.

Dec. 28 – Christopher Mood, 35, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony of assault in the second degree. Bond is set at $17,500 cash or surety.

  The arrest stems from a St. Clair County investigation into a domestic disturbance where Mood struck the victim in the back of the head with a baseball bat.

Dec. 29 – Brittany Jones, 21, Hollister, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D misdemeanor of failure to appear in court. Bond is set at $250 cash only.

The warrant stems from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Aug. 17, 2017.

Jan. 1 – Michael Harless, 44, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County on a Barry County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

The Barry County warrant is for an original charge of passing a bad check-$500 or more on Aug. 24, 2015.

Jan. 1- Michelle Niederklopfer, 45, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class A felony of trafficking drugs or attempt-first degree, a class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid and a class A misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $30,000 cash only.

The arrest stems from a Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force investigation on Dec. 31, 2017.

Jan. 1 – Melanie Piers, 27, Weaubleau, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class A felony of trafficking drugs or attempt- first degree, a class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, and a class A misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $30,000 cash only.

The arrest stems from a Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force investigation on Dec. 31, 2017.

                                                    Stealing in Lowry City

     Dec. 30 –  a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to 6870 NE private Rd. 969 in Lowry City for stealing from a camper and several out buildings.

    Upon arrival, Ronald Begeman met the deputy in the driveway. After speaking with Begeman, he stated that someone had broken into his fifth wheel camper, damaging the door, window and screen window. The deputy walked over to the camper and inspected the door. The door and the door frame had signs of forced entry, with visible tool marks. The glass on the window was broken out. Glass was scattered on the outside of the camper to the right of the steps. The screen had a small tear in it.

  Begeman stated someone had taken a large amount of plumbing and electrical supplies from his shed on the south side of the property. He stated that more items were taken from where his boat was sitting, two deep cycle batteries unknown make/model, one cranking battery unknown make/model, one fully loaded tackle box, a battery charger, and five to six sets of rod/reel combos.

Evidence was collected from the scene and a request for prosecution was filled out.
