The complete St. Clair County Sheriff’s office  News Release Jan. 22-29, 2018

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made nine arrests and took one report of stealing during the week of Jan. 22-29, 2018.

Warrant Arrests

Jan. 29  – Sydney Finley, 25, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class C misdemeanor for exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 mph over and an infraction for failure to wear a seat belt. Total bond is set at $174 cash only.

The charges come from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on May 24, 2012.

Jan. 29 – Samantha Taylor, 30, Clinton, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrants. The first warrant is for a probation violation on a class A misdemeanor assault in the third degree – first or second offense. The second warrant is for failure to appear in court for failing to pay fines on a class A misdemeanor violation of an order of protection for an adult. Total bond is set at $573 cash only.

  Jan. 28 – James Seek, 31, Collins, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class A misdemeanor resisting or interfering with arrest/detention/stop. This is a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

    The charge comes after St. Clair County deputies and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper arrived on scene to a one car motor vehicle accident. Missouri State Highway Patrol also charged Seek with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner-causing an accident.

Jan. 27 – Joseph Wilson, 43, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. This is a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The charge comes after a vehicle Wilson was a passenger in, was pulled over for a traffic violation. During a search of the passengers, the deputy found two syringes and a bag of crystal like substance in the pocket of Wilson’s pants. The crystal substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Jan. 26 – Ralph Fine, 26, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A misdemeanor of stealing. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

The charge stems from an investigation by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s office into a burglary on Aug. 26, 2017.

    Fine approached the house of Robert Dietrich, in the early morning hours on Aug. 26, and asked if he could use the phone to call for a ride. Dietrich allowed Fine to come in and use the phone. While in the house Fine asked for some medical supplies. Dietrich went to the bathroom to retrieve some supplies, came back and gave them to Fine. Fine departed the house at approximately at 6:00 a.m.

Dietrich went to look in his wallet that was on the bar in his house after Fine had left and noticed the $290 was missing out of it.

Jan. 24 – Christopher Reaves, 40, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an ordinance charge of driving while suspended or revoked and an ordinance charge of operating a motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Total bond is set at $225 cash only.

The original charges stem from a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on July 12, 2017.

Jan. 24 – Keri Wright, 24, Seymour, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a probation violation on a class C felony of forgery. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The original charge stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Sept. 19, 2016.

Jan. 23 – Jason Kemp, 27, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an ordinance charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 mph over. Bond is set at $93 cash only.

The ordinance charge stems from a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on Oct. 15, 2017.

Jan. 23 – Clinton Oehring, 26, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A misdemeanor of driving while revoked or suspended. Bond is set at $311.50 cash only.

    The original charge comes from a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on Nov. 15, 2017.

Stealing Near Roscoe

    Jan. 27 = St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to SW 50 Rd in reference to a stolen tree. The deputy contacted the reporting party, Mary Dorrell, by phone. Dorrell stated that a neighbor had contacted her about someone going onto her property and stealing a walnut log approximately 24 feet in length.

The deputies located a trail that led to an open field were some logging had been done. They found the stump that was located on Dorrell’s property. The log appeared to be taken down the hill and to the west, onto the property that was being logged.

A suspect has been named. Dorrell estimated the value of the log to be approximately $3,000.
