Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made seven arrests and recovered a stolen vehicle during the week of Oct. 22-29, 2018.

Warrant Arrests

Sarah Stroud- On Oct. 28, Sarah Stroud, 23, Sugar Creek, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Clay County warrant charging her with a class D felony stealing- motor vehicle/watercraft/aircraft. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

The warrant stems from an investigation by the North Kansas City Police Department on April 22, 2018.

Nicholas Barber- On Oct. 26, Nicholas Barber, 26, Springfield, was arrested on St. Clair County warrants charging him with three ordinance charges of exceeding the posted speed limit by 16-19 mph over, failure to register motor vehicle and no insurance. Total bond is set at $423.50 cash only.

The warrants come after a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on March 2, 2017.

John Mead- On Oct. 25, John Mead, 49, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class A misdemeanor possession of up to 35 grams of a synthetic cannabinoid. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only.

The original charge comes from an investigation by the Missouri Department of Conservation on Oct. 16, 2016.

Nicole Vannostrand- On Oct. 25, Nicole Vannostrand, 33, Andover, KS, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on an original class C felony passing bad check for $500 or more-no account/insufficient funds. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

The original charge stems from an investigation by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office on July 26, 2015.

Taylor Reynolds- On Oct. 24, Taylor Reynolds, 25, Harrisonville, was arrested on St. Clair County warrants charging her with a class D misdemeanor no driver’s license and a class B misdemeanor exceeded posted speed limit by 20-25 mph. Bond is set at $592 cash only.

The warrants stem from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Jan. 1, 2018.

Seth Parker- On Oct. 23, Seth Parker, 19, Deepwater, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an original charge of a class D misdemeanor possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less. Bond is set at $500 cash or surety.

The original charge comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that Parker was a passenger in for a traffic violation. The deputy had seen an occupant of the vehicle toss an object from the vehicle. The driver and other occupants admitted to smoking marijuana. During a search of the vehicle there was a small amount of marijuana in the back seat where Parker was sitting.

Jamie Batts- On Oct. 22, Jamie Batts, 40, Kansas City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a probation violation on original charges of a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a disturbance on 4th Street in Osceola on Oct. 14, 2017. Deputies arrived on scene to find an intoxicated Batts walking down the street with two needles in her hand. The needles field tested positive for methamphetamines.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Collins

On Oct. 28, a St Clair County deputy was dispatched to SE 871 Road in Collins in reference to a stolen vehicle that was burned. Dispatch advised the reporting party is the owner of the vehicle.

While heading to the scene, the deputy made contact with Chris Urie. Urie stated he reported his 2008 Nissan truck stolen to the Hickory County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 23, 2018. Urie was contacted by a friend, who was contacted by another man through Facebook, who found an insurance card with Urie’s name on it while he was hunting.

Urie stated he went to the area where the insurance card was found and found his stolen vehicle about 300 yards west of SE 871 Road. The truck had been burnt.

The deputy collected evidence and took photographs.
