The St. Clair County Commission met Wednesday, Nov. 2, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner, Leroy Strope, northern commissioner, Gerald Williams, southern commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk, Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant and Brandy Bourland, newspaper reporter present.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed equipment and repair, pipes and installations and brush cutting. Also discussed was grading on NE 1125 Rd.

It was noted there is a need to install a culvert on SW 800 Rd.

Commission met Monday, Nov. 7, with all present.

Sales Tax Revenues received for September 2016, were $18,738.97. Sales Tax Revenues were down $5,699.77 compared to one year ago.

Commissioner Williams made a motion to sign a document to give Treasurer Rhonda Shelby authority to claim St. Clair County’s unclaimed property from Missouri State Treasurer’s Office. Motion carried.

Commissioner Williams made a motion to approve and sign a Certified Copy of Order of Tax Sale 2016 Over Plus redeemed by Mark Mott to fulfill the redemption process for Linda Paxman. Motion carried.

The Commission spoke with Brian Bremer, Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co., inquiring about the JD Link on Road and Bridge graders.

The Commission and a local contractor discussed work on the Tucker Bridge which is located in the southeast part of the county.

The Commissioner authorized Treasurer Rhonda Shelby to issue the Over Plus from 2015 Tax Sale to Avis Cone.

The Commissioner and Jeanie Cunningham, representing Mike Keith Insurance, discussed renewal rates for employee health insurance.

Discussions were held concerning additional office space requirements for the Sheriff’s Department.
