District Solo, Ensembles recognized

I am very proud to brag on the excellence of our young musicians in El Dorado Springs. Yesterday we traveled to Stockton High School to compete on the District Solo and Ensemble Contest. Out of the nine events taken, three received a 2 rating, and six received 1 rating, qualifying them for the State Solo and Ensemble contest that takes place in Columbia at the end of April.

The events that received 2 rating were:

Paige Floyd – Snare Drum Solo

Cody Rutledge – Trumpet Solo

Brass Quartet – Ethan Roberts, Alex Posey, Brock Kirbey and Tommy Higbie

The events qualifying for state and received a 1 rating are:

Tyler Goatley – Trumpet Solo

Courtney Lame – Bass Clarinet Solo

Caleb Alexander – Tenor Saxophone Solo

Hunter Jacobs – Clarinet Solo

Ethan Roberts – Trumpet Solo

Trumpet Trio – Tyler G., Ethan R. and Ashlie Cartwright

If you get a chance to see any of these students, please give them a big high-five and congratulations. They have put in so many hours to prepare for the contest. However, we are just getting started. Thank you for your continued support.
