Diamond, Missouri was the place to be on Monday, April 4th! ECS 3rd graders, their teacher Mrs. Jill Ash and parents took an AWESOME field trip to the George Washington Carver National Monument. They enjoyed a picnic lunch, a private tour by a GWCNM Park Ranger and each student made “peanut milk!” They first deshelled a cup of peanuts, crushed them, placed the peanuts in a science beaker, added water and shook until mixed! Their tour continued with a mile-long walk on the Carver Trail. The trail is a beautiful woodland with trees and native grass; in addition to the birth place of George and the stunning, “Boy Carver Statue.” Pictured; sitting front: Claira Dodson and Kate Hubbard. Sitting on the bench; Eli McCormick, Travis Bland, Joseph Gayman and Naz Pietersen. Back row: Shane Geigley, Judd Lawson, Aurora Andra, Bently Bowen, Johnna Gingerich and ECS 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Jill Ash.
