The Bulldog Band had a great first outing this weekend, when they competed at the Carl Junction Marching Festival.

The Bulldog Band performed at 10:45 a.m. in Class A Preliminary Competition. To say that this performance was our best is a MAJOR understatement. The kids felt defeated, but we stuck it out to the awards anyway. At the end of the afternoon, the Bulldog Band received Outstanding Color Guard for Class A and earned First Place in our class. Other bands in Class A included, Butler High School, Seymour High School, & Miller High School. Because the Bulldog Band won Class A, they were selected to perform in the Finals Competition that evening.

The Band then drew to perform in first in the Finals Competition. After a quick rehearsal and covering a few things that the band didn’t do so well at in the Preliminary performance, the Bulldog Band took the field at 7 p.m. to start the Finals portion of the night.

The phrase, “Night and Day Difference” was completely accurate in the case of the Bulldog Band on Saturday. Music was performed a ton better. The drill was marched a ton better. The Bulldog Band looked like the Bulldog Band we all know and love. Thank you all for your continued support. We hope to see and hear you at the football game and at the Black Walnut Parade.
