Kalen Post, a 2026 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School, has received the Ellis and Jennie Barritt Educational Scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
Post, the daughter of Jamie Fletcher and Kevin Post, will attend Fort Scott Community College this fall, where she plans to pursue a degree in elementary education.
“I am incredibly honored and grateful to be selected,” Post said. “This scholarship will help ease the financial burden of college and allow me to focus on my education, athletics and future goals.”
The late Jennie Barritt, a longtime teacher in El Dorado Springs, established the Ellis and Jennie Barritt Educational Scholarship Fund to benefit graduating El Dorado Springs High School seniors, with preference given to those pursuing a degree in education. The endowment provides a $1,500 scholarship, renewable for three years.
The CFO and its regional affiliate foundations — including the El Dorado Springs Community Foundation — hold more than 450 scholarship funds, established by generous donors to help students from across central and southern Missouri achieve their goals of higher education.
