El Dorado Springs High School DECA members attended the annual DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) that took place in Atlanta, GA, on April 25-28. The #DECAICDC spotlights DECA’s top student performers from nearly all 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico and Germany. It also highlights innovative business partnerships that empower these emerging leaders and entrepreneurs to tackle the challenges of an ever-evolving and increasingly complex economic landscape.

The preliminary competition took place over two days consisting of an 100 question Entrepreneurship Cluster exam and two Role Play scenarios. Darlinda scored over 70% on her combined total score earning a silver seal medallion.
“This is the first time since 2019 that the El Dorado Springs DECA Chapter has attended ICDC in person. It was a wonderful experience for Darlinda and it has motivated our other members to reach for their chance at ICDC in Anaheim, California next spring.,” said Kristal Swopes, Advisor, who attended ICDC.
This year’s #DECAICDC featured over 26,000 members, advisors and business professionals in attendance, making it the largest conference in DECA’s history. In addition to career-based competition, DECA members engaged in leadership academies and networking opportunities with over 85 internationally recognized businesses.
During the school year, more than 250,000 of DECA’s 315,000 student members participate in the organization’s competitive events program, competing for local and regional titles. The competitions are designed to simulate real-life business scenarios and test students’ academic understanding and skills development. The top state and provincial winners put their talents to the test during the program’s final round of competition in Atlanta.
