On Friday, Feb. 11, 11 El Dorado Springs High School DECA members traveled to MSSU in Joplin for the District 10 Career Development Conference. This was the first competition experience for the majority of the EHS DECA members. “I couldn’t be prouder of the group that attended and happy to announce that seven students qualified to compete at the State Career Development Conference at Crown Center in Kansas City on March 13-15,” said Advisor Kristal Swopes.
The results were as follows: Seth Christie and Jace Shinn, 1st place in Marketing Management Team Decision Making; Jaren Meisenheimer and Auston Smith, 2nd place in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making; Juris Leroux, 2nd place in Principle of Business Administration and Management; Alyssa Irvin, 2nd place in Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling; Hannah Carpenter, 2nd Place in Apparel and Accessories; Makayla Shipp, 3rd place in Apparel and Accessories; and Allison Carpenter, 3rd place in Retail Merchandising.. Qualifying for State CDC were the teams of Christie and Shinn, Meisenheimer and Smith, Leroux, H. Carpenter, and Irvin.
Also competing were Truman Ledbetter and Wyatt VanGordon in Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making.
